Last updated July 2014

I am a Staff Research Associate in the Kelly Research & Outreach Lab. Currently I am a geospatial researcher on the National Institutes of Health funded Our Space project. I also assist in the maintenance of the Sudden Oak Death OakMapper webGIS database. I have previously worked as the lead researcher for the CITRIS funded Advanced Tools for Consolidation of California’s Groundwater Data project, as a remote sensing and GIS specialist in the Advanced Remote Sensing to Quantify Carbon Sequestration in Wetlands project, and as a researcher examining object-based image classification (OBIA) techniques for log identification in burned forest landscapes with the Sierra Nevada Adaptive Management project.

I have expertise in a variety of open source and proprietary Geographic Information System (GIS) and database platforms including ESRI ArcGIS, eCognition, ENVI, IDRISI, Quantum GIS, PostgreSQL, and GDAL and have experience in basic application and web based programming.

I have a B.A. in Geography from Clark University in Worcester, MA where I specialized in land cover / land use change analysis and mapping, geomorphic change analysis, and urban geography. I also have a M.A. in Geographic Information Science from Clark University where I specialized in land cover / land use change modeling.

I have worked for Clark Labs for Cartographic Technologies and Geographic Analysis, the Human-Environment Regional Observatory (HERO) Massachusetts Forest Monitoring Program, the Southern Yucatan Peninsular Region (SYPR) Project in environmental disturbance and forest monitoring, and in local and regional transportation planning and urban economic agencies.

My academic interests include urban and transportation geography and planning, Geographic Information Science and Systems (GIS), remote sensing, cartography, land cover / land use change analysis and mapping, quantitative and spatial modeling, land change science, vulnerability assessment, and geospatial analysis and visualization.

Current CV is available upon request.
