For anyone researching the effects of human-induced global warming, you've been wasting your time. At least that's what the attendees of this conference are claiming.

If climate change is not human induced, it is not worth studying? You reveal your motives for studying climate change when you make such a silly statement. Science is about getting to the truth regardless of where it leads.
No one questions that the climate changes - climate is not static. Regardless of whether climate change is man-made or not, understanding climate is a worthwhile endeavor.
Btw, how's this for climate change:

PoeM,
I was not implying that it is not worth studying. That comment was simply in reference to the aforementioned conference's oppositional stance. Nonetheless, I agree with you're stance about motives in science. In fact, that is why I pointed out this conference, it is has clear motives that bias its interpretation of the available research.
The sponsoring organization, The Heartland Institute, has the following mission: "The mission of The Heartland Institute is to discover and promote free-market solutions to social and economic problems. Such solutions include parental choice in education, market-based approaches to environmental protection, privatization of public services, and deregulation in areas where property rights and markets do a better job than government bureaucracies."
It is in their interest to debunk any theories of human induced climate change. We are already seeing a global push for energy regulation, which conflict with their neoliberal free-market visions of privatization and deregulation.
