Free Geography Tools featured this post, which highlights a very useful table summarizing the features of different open source GIS.

Thanks John. This is really helpful as I am trying to get landscape on open source GIS. Another thing that I have been looking into is web service. If anyone spot anything on web services, please alert me. So far, I am aware of services provided by OGC. Google Maps seems to provision web service, but it's where they put the miscellaneous stuff.
